Alicent is removed from the council
Many fans expected Alicent’s dismissal from the council. Her removal was inevitable after they installed Aemond as regent instead of Alicent. Aemond then told Alicent to pursue more “domestic” duties.
However, Alicent has more experience than Aemond, having ruled alongside Otto when Viserys was sick. The council has changed since then, with only Tyland and Ironrod remaining from the original council. With Aemond and other young men in charge, they no longer want Alicent on the council. However, Aemond has asked Otto to return.

Paddy Considine returns as Viserys
Paddy Considine returned as King Viserys I in two shocking scenes. He showed up in Daemon’s visions at Harrenhal, confusing viewers. In the first vision, Viserys scolded Daemon for mocking his son as the “heir for a day,” referring to the death of Viserys’ son, Baelon, in Season 1.
His speech echoes the Season 1 scene. In the end, Viserys cries as Daemon desperately tries to leave. In the second vision, Viserys cries over his wife Aemma’s death, for which he feels responsible. These scenes show the guilt both Daemon and Viserys feel for their actions.
