Flea Bottom revolts against the Greens in House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6
War has arrived in Westeros, and King’s Landing is under a lot of pressure. Being the center of contention, the commonfolk are facing the worst of it all while the royals and the soldiers fight their battles. Resources are stretched thin, there’s barely any food left for their families, and in their frustration, they rise up against the crown, right when Alicent and Helaena are at the Sept.
This is triggered by Rhaenyra (through Mysaria), sending food to the smallfolk of Flea Bottom who have been riled up by Mysaria’s whispers about the crown using up all the resources while the smallfolk starve. That leads to riots across the city as angry smallfolk rise up against the Greens.
Parallels with Game of Thrones
A similar situation occurred in the penultimate episode of the second season of Game of Thrones. As the Battle of Blackwater drains off the already thin resources of King’s Landing, the citizens riot, and Sansa gets caught up in it, much like Alicent and Helaena. She is then rescued by Ser Sandor Clegane, the Hound.
