Interview
3 Body Problem co-showrunner checked with Game of Thrones producer if David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are “decent people”
The controversy around Game of Thrones extends beyond the divisive finale season. The show has often been criticized for violence, gore, and nudity, and the creators have been dragged into the mud whenever issues like these are highlighted. David Benioff and D. B. Weiss created the greatest show together, and despite several ups and downs, the cast and crew generally had a good time. It was one of the reasons why the duo was selected for their next project, the 3 Body Problem.
Alexander Woo made sure he was working with “decent people”
After what happened with Game of Thrones, one would think twice before working with its showrunner. 3 Body Problem’s Alexander Woo did the same when he asked Bryan Cogman, co-executive producer on Game of Thrones, about their work ethics. He told THR, “Bryan said, ‘You won’t find a single person who worked on Game of Thrones with a single bad thing to say about either of them. They’re genuinely great, decent people.”
Emilia Clarke was pressured into filming n*de scenes
Despite Bryan Cogman’s reassurance, Game of Thrones fans might recall the show was surrounded by controversies quite often. One of them was work ethics, especially when it came to female actors. Emilia Clarke was once forced into doing n*de scenes. In an earlier interview, she revealed,
“I’m a lot more savvy [now] with what I’m comfortable with, and what I am okay with doing. I’ve had fights on set before where I’m like, ‘No, the sheet stays up’, and they’re like, ‘You don’t wanna disappoint your Game of Thrones fans’. And I’m like, ‘Fuck you.’”
