The Boys showrunner wants to adapt ‘Saga’: a comic book described as “Star Wars meets Game of Thrones”
Game of Thrones gained huge popularity by basing its characters on actual people. They travel a grey path, which adds to their appeal. A number of present-day shows have followed the example and have been quite successful in doing so. The Boys is definitely one of them, and has gained a massive fan following along with critical appraisal. The Amazon hit’s creator Eric Kripke has now set his eyes on another adaptation, this time set in space.
Eric Kripke wants to make a ‘Saga’ live adaptation
Kripke had achieved worldwide fame even before he adapted Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book series The Boys for Amazon Prime, as the creator of CW’s Supernatural. This time, he wants to adapt another epic – Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he was asked about his dream project, to which he replied,
“Saga, by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, I’m obsessed with it. So insane and so grounded at the same time. Brian and Fiona, call me!”
What is Saga about?
The epic space opera series Saga, which debuted in 2012, centers on Alana and Marko, a married couple from a long-running conflict between extraterrestrial cultures. Described as “Game of Thrones meets Star Wars,” the epic fantasy series follows a couple as they attempt to navigate a cosmic conflict while protecting their kid.
