Kit Harington’s Snow and other Game of Thrones spinoffs are far from being greenlit by HBO

HBO has long discussed the possibility of delving deeper into the Martinverse, even prior to the conclusion of the original series, so the concept of Game of Thrones spinoff shows is not new. However, very few of them have seen the light of the day, and a number of them got canceled at various stages. Even after the ending of the WGA strikes, the situation doesn’t seem to be that better at HBO.
Snow and other spinoffs are far from being a reality
It has been known for some time that several Game of Thrones spinoffs are currently under development at HBO under the guidance of George R. R. Martin. One of the projects that got halted during the WGA strikes was Kit Harington’s Jon Snow sequel. HBO exec Casey Bloys said in a recent press conference (via TVLine):
“We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring. I wouldn’t say there is anything else in that world that is close to a green light or anything, but we are always working on different scripts and ideas.”
Liam Cunningham would like to join SNOW
The possibility of a Jon Snow sequel caused quite a stir in the Game of Thrones world and turned many heads, even those of the show’s celebrities. In a recent interview, Liam Cunningham, who played Davos Seaworth, said, “I did send [Kit] a text saying, ‘Better Call Davos,’ I haven’t heard anything back.”
