Emilia Clarke isn’t interested in playing Daenerys anymore, says “I think I’m done”

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is one of the most anticipated shows of 2022, and is currently, a high-priority project at HBO. However, the prequel show, based on the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, wasn’t the only idea under development. There were several others, 4 other Game of Thrones live-action spinoffs out of which one is about Jon Snow, proposed by none other than Kit Harington himself.
Once the news about the Jon Snow spinoff made its way to the internet, several Game of Thrones fans began urging for offshoot stories about their own favorite characters, one of them being Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. However, actress Emilia Clarke is less than interested in reprising her fan-favorite role. In an interview with BBC News, she was asked if she would be getting involved in any of the Game of Thrones spinoffs, to which she replied, “No, I think I’m done.”
This is a bit heartbreaking for a lot of fans since Daenerys Targaryen is one of the most popular and beloved characters not only in Game of Thrones but in all of fantasy literature. Though Emilia Clarke herself was the first one to break the news about Kit Harington’s Jon Snow spinoff, we sadly won’t get a Daenerys spinoff unless the role is recast.
