Interview
Gwendoline Christie would love to return as Brienne in a Game of Thrones spinoff
Game of Thrones wasn’t just the biggest show of the century, it was a huge family and a way of life for so many people for nearly a decade. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something that not only the fans but the cast and the crew find hard to move away from. A lot of them had their careers skyrocket to unprecedented heights, and still wish to return to the beloved roles they miss dearly. One of them is Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie, who longs to play Brienne of Tarth once again.
Christie talked to Newsweek in a recent interview and said, “Brienne of Tarth is incredibly close to my heart, and I would relish any opportunity to revisit her. I believe she is enduring.”
When asked about if she would like her own Game of Thrones spinoff show, she replied, “I would love for that. I am really enjoying doing different things. I feel incredibly and genuinely honored and so fortunate to have had the opportunity to play that character that I have loved with all of my heart for all of that length of time, for that decade.”
Christie also teased the possibility of Brienne making an appearance in the Jon Snow spinoff. She hinted, “I mean… (laughs) Maybe. Maybe.”
