Maisie Williams bags the lead role in upcoming comedy ‘Sinner v. Saints’
Game of Thrones ended nearly two years ago. The cast and crew of the show have moved on to newer ventures. Most have begun working on new filming projects, joining the likes of big production houses such as the MCU and DCEU. Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, famous for playing the silent assassin Arya Stark, who will be appearing in FX’s biopic series Pistol at the end of this month, has already set her eyes on a new project. Williams is set to play the lead in the new comedy film Sinner v. Saints.
Maisie is experimenting with her roles, as she avoids being stereotyped as a particular character. Set in 1970s L.A. and London, Sinner v. Saints is based on the extraordinary real-life scandal that made headlines worldwide, involving an eccentric MENSA beauty queen who goes to extreme lengths to stop the Mormon church from stealing her sexual obsession: a nebbish Mormon missionary.
Maisie joins The Good Doctor actor Freddie Highmore in the upcoming comedy flick from director Tim Kirkby (Fleabag). Mark Williams (The Accountant, Ozark, Honest Thief) and Andriana Williams, head of Zero Gravity’s Inspire Division, are the producers of the project.

The script is written by Jill Hoppe and based on the book Joyce McKinney and the Case of the Manacled Mormon by Anthony Delano and the international news story. The film will begin shooting in the first quarter of 2023 in the U.S. and U.K.
