Game of Thrones viewership falls below 7 Million for the first time in season 6
After the much eventful sixth episode of the season ‘Blood of My Blood‘, the ratings of the show reigned the list of competition, but the viewership of the episode in question failed to be match enough to the previous episodes.
Although ‘Blood of My Blood’ did surpass the ratings of that night’s episodes of other popular shows like Penny Dreadful, Silicon Valley, The Carmichael Show, The Girlfriend Experience, House of Lies and Veep, the episode had much less viewership than usual.
With the general views on the live episode always close to 7 Million, the viewership saw a drastic fall up to 6.71 Million, which is the first time season 6 has lost as many viewers. The reason for this sudden change is possibly due to the fact that the episode was aired on the weekend of ‘Memorial Day‘. Based on a study of previous statistics, it was observed that ratings of the show might possibly fall during said holiday, but since the season has had notable viewership so far, we can only hope that the next episode, ‘The Broken Man’ manages to sweep the prior mark of 7 Million viewers.
Game of Thrones season 6 episode 7, The Broken Man airs this Sunday on HBO at 9 PM. Watch the preview of the episode below.
