Maisie Williams makes a generous donation of £50,000 to an animal shelter
Coronavirus pandemic has affected everything around us. Not only it has taken away the lives of millions of people, it has also affected the jobs and basic necessities of life. Animals too are not untouched by it. The virus has left our beloved species in danger as well and needs our attention. Thankfully some of our favorite stars have already begun doing something about it and we can’t be happier about it. Read on!
As per the reports from Metro, Maisie Williams has stepped up and made a very generous donation of £50,000 to her local animal shelter in Bristol. The Animal Rescue Centre had put out an urgent notice for some help during the COVID-19. They had been suffering financial losses and desperately needed help.
Thankfully, Williams took notice of it and immediately and made the contribution. The folks at the shelter were ecstatic with the contribution and thanked Williams on Twitter. They wrote:
“We want to say a huge thank you to Bristol’s very own @Maisie_Williams, who made an incredibly generous donation to our urgent appeal last Friday. To know that she loves and supports what we do really has made the world of difference to us and the animals we care for.”
Williams responded graciously to the tweet as well and wrote:
“You are all most welcome, be safe.”

Williams had in fact, adopted her dog, Sonny from the Bristol Shelter and has been vocal about how her life has changed for good since then. She wrote:
“Bristol A.R.C. changes the lives of animals every day and Sonny, my dog who I adopted from them a few years ago, has changed my life in many ways for the better. It’s so important in these difficult times not to forget about charities like Bristol A.R.C. that need our help.”
She appealed for more donations as well and reiterated the importance of staying together in these tough times.
“So please make a donation to their appeal if you can. We all need to stick together in these dark times and keep the world spinning regardless.”
It is great to see our beloved stars going out of their way and doing their bit. In fact, Williams’ on-screen brother from Game of Thrones, Issac Hempstead a.k.a. Bran Stark too was helping his step-dad in producing and donating the PPE for health workers.
