Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju cast as Nivellen in Netflix’s The Witcher Season 2
Game of Thrones ended last year only when we had grown to love Tormund Giantsbane who revealed the secret to his strength in the last season. We wish it could have lasted a season or two more so that we could enjoy watching him get along with other characters in the series. Yet, much like other actors in the series, the actor behind Tormund, Kristofer Hivju, has moved on and reportedly has landed a role in Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’.
Well, this was announced recently by Redanian Intelligence, who broke the news that Hivju has been confirmed to play Nivellen in The Witcher. The report suggested that the actor has been cast as ‘Nigel’ which is a codename for Nivellen. The Redanian Intelligence even described the character to be a ‘charismatic, witty and funny man’ and comes from ‘aristocratic family and has been cursed for the crimes he has committed in the past.’
This role seems apt for Hivju who successfully portrayed Tormund in Game of Thrones, who much like Nivellen was a man with dark humour. The actor will only appear in the first episode of the new season. This will also be based upon the short story ‘A Grain of Truth’ where Geralt of Rivia will meet with Nivellen. Geralt is played by ‘Man of Steel’ Henry Cavill, who is the main character of the series. And, we can’t wait to see both these talented actors share the screen together!
The last we saw of Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones was during the series finale, where he along with rest of the Wildlings was seen going Beyond the Wall with Jon Snow. Let’s wait and watch how accurately Kristofer Hivju portrays this new role in The Witcher series!
