Peter Dinklage lands his first win at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards
Game of Thrones has been doing quite well at its final awards season. The latest wins come from one of the most popular award ceremony, the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2020, and Game of Thrones has managed to get two wins. Read on!
We had recently reported about Game of Thrones bagging three nominations at the 2020 SAG awards. The show had two nominations in the Ensemble categories — Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category, and the other in the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. The other nomination was for Peter Dinklage, in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category, for his Season 8 performance as Tyrion Lannister.
Peter grabbed a win, and so did the stunt ensemble. Unfortunately the cast of the show lost the other ensemble award to Netflix’s The Crown.
The win was a first for Dinklage at the SAG Awards after six nominations throughout his career, all for playing Tyrion. He thanked the people of Northern Ireland for putting up with the show, and the show’s cast and his wife for putting up with him, in his acceptance speech. Check out a clip of the same:
Well, we hope Dinklage continues on to win more awards for his acting skills in the future. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments below!
