Game of Thrones showrunners to receive the Emmy Founders Award
With 38 awards and 128 nominations under its belt, Game of Thrones is no stranger to the International Emmy awards. But this one is special, for it celebrates the tremendous cultural significance GoT holds on a global scale.
Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be honoured with the 2019 International Emmy Founders Award for adapting George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ for HBO, The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recently announced. The Founders Award honour creations that have made contributions to the history of television production have had a significant cultural impact throughout the world.
Game of Thrones has been shot in multiple locations of Northern Ireland, Morocco, Croatia, and Iceland. It airs in over 207 countries all over the world and is widely regarded as the most popular TV show ever. Academy President & CEO, Bruce L. Paisner agrees in his interview with Indiewire:
“David and D.B. are absolute game changers, visionary storytellers who have created, with their first foray into television, a record-breaking global cultural phenomenon with an international following like no other. We look forward to honouring their extraordinary talent and the ‘Game of Thrones’ legacy with our Founders Award.”

Benioff and Weiss have expressed their gratitude with a recent statement on this as well:
“The International Academy does us all a great honour. From cast to crew to locations, the ‘Game of Thrones’ effort was truly international, and this award rightly belongs to all the people who worked so hard for so many years to bring the show to life”.
In receiving the Emmy Founders award, Benioff and Weiss join a list of illustrious television writers and creators including Mathew Weiner (Mad Men) and Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey).
The award will be presented to the showrunners on the Annual Emmy Gala set to be held on November 25th in New York. From the little we have seen of Game of Thrones Season 8 so far, that does not seem like the only award Team Game Of Thrones is going to take home that night!
Game of Thrones Season 8 premiers on April 14th on HBO worldwide.
Game of Thrones has had some great taste and luck with their merchandising and other promotions. We have been seeing better-than-ever promotions this time around, with Season 8, and recently there were reports about Oreo teaming up with Game of Thrones to bring around some Game of Thrones styled Oreo cookies. Looks like they’re about to hit the stores soon. Read on!
Looks like Oreo is going all out with it, too. They remade the whole Game of Thrones opening sequence that we all adore, fully with Oreos.
Apparently, around 2,750 Oreo cookies were used to make this intro. Oreo apparently teamed up with creative agency 360i and Elastic, the creators of the actual opening sequence of Game of Thrones, to make this beauty, which explains why it’s so good and loyal to the original.
The Game of Thrones edition Oreos will come with sigils of House Lannister, House Targaryen, and House Stark, as well as The Night King, embossed on them in place of the regular design that these cookies usually come with.
The flavor seems to have been kept the same as the basic Oreos, so you needn’t worry. These special, limited edition will the shelves on April 8, about a week before the Season 8 premiere date, April 14. If you love Oreos, you might want to stock up on these as soon as they’re available. Maybe try and win one of the Game of Thrones edition Mountain Dew cans to go along with them.

With just 10 days to go for Game Of Thrones Season 8 to release, we have come across the first leak of the season and it turns out the leak has originated from the Game Of Thrones Season 8 premiere that was held in New York. Luckily, it’s not the entire episode that has been leaked online but just the opening credits scene and it’s really awesome and looks completely different. Warning, this post contains spoilers from the upcoming season.
A thing to keep in mind if you are still undecided about scrolling down. The info that has been leaked (yes that’s the appropriate word as it shouldn’t have been shared online before the official release date) is minor but it still gives us an idea about what might happen in the first episode and that makes it a spoiler but at the same time it reveals nothing that can be considered to be very important. So keeping this in mind you can decide whether you still want to scroll down or not.
We know that the intro gets modified based on the events that occur during the season and Game Of Thrones season 7 ended with the Night King bringing down the Wall with the help of the undead Viserion and we can see that change in the opening credits scene and it also reveals what we can expect in the first episode. You can watch the clip on Reddit. The source of the leak is Carice van Houten, so we are sure that Carice didn’t realize the video she was sharing on her Insta account would reveal things from the upcoming season. She has taken down the video but we are sure HBO must be really angry right now.

If you look carefully, the Wall is broken down and closer to the Wall lies Last Hearth, which belongs to House Umber. So we can expect some destruction happening at the Last Hearth in the first episode of season 8. There’s another clip that has surfaced online and it takes us to King’s Landing.

We can see that the intro is very different from the one we have been seeing all these seasons. The intro takes us inside the Red Keep, right to the dungeons where we can see Balerion’s skull lying in front of Cersei’s Dragon killer weapon. So that might mean that we can expect something important happening underneath the Red Keep.

It was a big day for the cast of Game Of Thrones as it was time for the world premiere of Game Of Thrones Season 8 and the stars made sure that they looked stunning on the Red Carpet. By the time the Red Carpet event wrapped up, everyone was asking the same question. Where is Lena Headey and why isn’t she present at the season 8 premiere?!
It turns out that the ruthless Queen of the Seven Kingdoms is really sick. So sick, that she couldn’t fly down to New York to attend the final premiere of Game Of Thrones. Lena took to Instagram to share the disappointment of missing the premiere. The caption read:
“Gutted. Heartbroken and fu*ked off, still doesn’t cover my disappointment at not being able to travel to NYC for our final prem tonight. I fucking hate being sick and the timing of this is a shit bag. But .. S8 is the tits and so are all my cast mates and crew mates and creators… so RIDE FORTH INTO THE NIGHT AND CREATE MAYHEM … Love you beauties ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️?????“
We hope that Lena recovers quickly and it’s sad to see that she had to miss out on such an important event. At the time of writing the article, the screening is already over and here’s a video of the cast of Game Of Thrones receiving a standing ovation.
