“You are going to be very surprised” says Kristian Nairn about Game of Thrones Season 8
Game of Thrones has had a tonne of great characters, and almost equally as many deaths. However, among the saddest deaths, is that of our beloved giant, Hodor. While we still hope Hodor comes back in Season 8, as a wight, we still don’t think he will. In the meantime, however,Kristian Nairn was recently at the Middle East Film & Comic Con in Dubai, where he discussed Game of Thrones, and even teased the final season. Read on!
First off, he revealed that he has never read the books, and he doesn’t plan on, either:
“I wouldn’t say I was a fan of the series when I was offered the role. I’m really lazy and I just never made the time or the effort to get into it. Also, my mother is a huge fan and a reader.
So, for almost four years our dinner conversations where about what happens in the books and she would give me all the spoilers. And now that I’m done with the series, I know that I’m never going to read them. I know I’m being terrible.”
Now, as we know, Hodor’s always-companion was Bran Stark, played by Issac Hempstead-Wright, and Nairn and Wright got along pretty well in real life, too! Recalling their first meeting, Nairn said:
“The first day I met him, he smashed my iPhone. And I knew we had something special. He was just the clumsiest child. And I say this to his face, that he’s a very smart kid but he’s not very streetwise. Like he wouldn’t know how to open a can of Red Bull, but he’d get straight A’s on all his exams. It’s almost annoying.”
Nairn then gave a tiny tease for Game of Thrones Season 8:
“It’s going to be absolutely mind-blowing. You are going to be ‘very’ surprised.”
Now, we can but hope that Hodor shows up again in Season 8, and that’s why Nairn knows it’s going to be that surprising. Maybe. What do you think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
