Watch the trailer for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 4, “The Spoils of War”

The latest Game Of Thrones episode threw up some big surprises for the fans. Everyone was wondering how Cersei was going to defend herself as Daenerys had Dragons, Unsullied, Dothraki, Martells and the Tyrells on her side. But it turns out that it’s Cersei who is inflicting all the damage. This certainly isn’t the scenario everyone had in their mind before the 7th season began.

In the latest episode, we saw the Lannisters cleverly giving up their home, Casterly Rock, so that they could surprise Daenerys and her allies and it turned the tables upside down. In the second episode, we saw Euron wiping out the Yara Greyjoy’s fleet and now he made sure that he did the same thing with Daenerys’ fleet. On the other hand, Jaime teamed up with the Tarlys and wiped out the Tyrells. With this, Cersei has managed to eliminate the threat posed by the Greyjoys, Tyrells and the Martells and this is really impressive. Now Daenerys is on her own and we can see the pressure of all these losses mounting on her in the trailer for the next episode, “The Spoils of War.”

The trailer begins with Cersei telling Tycho Nestoris that her only plan at the moment is to capture all of Westeros and establish control over every person living there. Back on Dragonstone, Daenerys is in a difficult situation now as Cersei has somehow managed to eliminate all of her allies and and we can see that Daenerys is now worried and there’s a change in her attitude when she speaks with Jon. She no longer seems to be the confident Queen, who was dictating terms with Jon Snow.

The Lannisters defeating the Tyrells has changed the entire situation as they have taken away all the gold from Highgarden and they plan to use it to repay the Iron Bank and Tycho Nestoris seems pleased and he assures Cersei that she can count on the Iron Bank as soon as they receive the gold. We then see Littlefinger with the Valyrian steel dagger which we last saw in season 1, when he betrayed Ned Stark.

Daenerys seems to be fed up with Tyrion’s clever plans as he has been outsmarted by Cersei since the moment Daenerys has arrived in Westeros. Daenerys decides to take things into her own hands and we can see her riding Drogon and we are sure that she is going to strike the Lannister army and inflict heavy damages.

We then see Jon Snow and Daenerys entering the cave which contains the Dragonglass mine. Other than these scenes, we also see Brienne and Podrick training in Winterfell, Theon possibly arriving at Dragonstone and Arya Stark arriving at Winterfell. We got to see one Stark reunion and the next episode make things even better by bringing 3 Starks together.

The Spoils of War airs next Sunday at 9 PM on HBO in the US and on Monday at 7.30 am on Hotstar in India.
