Vigil fans go wild for ‘Game of Thrones reunion’ in season premiere
Game of Thrones was the biggest show of the 21st century, hence it is hard to miss the stars of the fantasy epic on other shows and films. Fans are delighted to see their favourite actors in new shows and movies. Recently, viewers of the BBC drama Vigil went wild with excitement when they noticed some familiar faces in the season premiere. Game of Thrones fans were quick to catch Rose Leslie and Daniel Portman in the episode, who are playing prominent roles in the BBC drama.
The thrilling new show’s premiere saw DCI Amy Silva, played by Suranne Jones, called to a submarine to investigate a suspicious death after a member of the navy was reported to have overdosed on heroin after an explosive row.
In Vigil, Leslie plays Kirsten Longacre – who is paired with Silva on the investigation. Portman plays Gary Walsh – a bunkmate to the late Craig Burke (Martin Compston). While Silva works on the submarine, Longacre conducts her own inquiries in the nearby naval base – and finds herself in just as much trouble after stumbling across a memory stick containing some incriminating videos.
Both actors made a big impression on Game of Thrones fans during their stint in Westeros, with Leslie playing fiery wilding Ygritte and Portman playing Brienne’s loveable squire Podrick.

Game of Thrones had some of the best cast and crew members from all over the world. Many of them are multi-talented, such as Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) who’s also a musician. The extras are highly talented as well. One of them participated in the Tokyo Olympics as a member of the Irish Swimming team, while recently, another has managed to secure a bronze medal in badminton. British Paralympian Krysten Coombs won a bronze medal in the badminton singles SH6 event.
The Brighton badminton ace was credited as an extra in HBO’s fantasy epic Game of Thrones, when he played one of the dwarves who played a skit right before the young King Joffrey’s death.
In his season four cameo, Coombs – along with a group of others dwarfs – took part in a mock reenactment of the War of the Kings. Coombs dressed up as Balon Greyjoy at Joffrey’s wedding to Margaery Tyrell where he rode a Kraken.
Coombs told The Sun, “Hopefully I can inspire other kids with achondroplasia and other types of dwarfism at home. Show them that there is a journey, there’s a life and you can be successful with it. This is the pinnacle. I know I’m a fighter and a strong person. I just dug in and thought I can do this and went for it.”

The production for Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is moving rather swiftly, and we might see George R. R. Martin’s prediction about the series’ release come to fruition. Various cast and crew members have been spotted by locals and reporters quite recently, despite HBO’s best efforts to keep the filming under the veil. Telegraph reporter Steven Ross saw Matt Smith, who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, in full make-up and costume not long ago in Peak District village.
A large film crew and a couple of horses were also seen in the village. Steven spoke to several crew members at the old war memorial in Castleton but they said they had signed a non-disclosure agreement. Hence they were not allowed to take pictures up close.

Locals informed the reporters they had seen 80 strong film crew on the old Mam Tor Road. According to fresh reports, “They think they’ve picked the Peak District as the new New Zealand for next Game of Thrones series.”
A one-way travel course has also been constructed in the village to get plant lorries through as filming continues.
