This super weird Jon-Daenerys theory came from George R. R. Martin himself

Game of Thrones is a fandom full of theories, and from what we have seen, most of them are about alternate parentage. The biggest Game of Thrones theory came true last season, with Jon Snow being confirmed to be the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Now, as we know, this makes Daenerys Targaryen his aunt, but a new theory which stems from the creator of the Game of Thrones universe himself, George R. R. Martin himself, says that the relation between the two might not be what we thought it to be. Read on!

It all comes down to one detail, as reported by DigitalSpy. In the books, Daenerys remembers a peculiar detail about her childhood that doesn’t fit in with her story. She remembers a lemon tree where she grew up, which was in Braavos. However here’s the weird thing : lemon trees don’t grow in Braavos, they grow in Dorne. Now this points to a possibility : Daenerys was lied to about her childhood, and that she actually lived in Dorne before she was taken into hiding. Why? Because of the same reason Jon was taken by Ned Stark and disguised as a bastard : because she’s Rhaegar’s daughter, which makes her Jon Snow’s sister. Check out the screenshot, below :

Another thing pointing to this is how Ned didn’t approve of the idea of killing Daenerys back in Season 1. If this wasn’t enough, Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy, once said to Vulture that he had spoken to Martin about Jon’s parents and this is what Martin told him:

“You know, I asked him about who Jon Snow’s real parents were, and he told me. I can’t say who, but I can tell you that it involves a bit of a Luke Skywalker situation. It will all come to fruition eventually.”
