The Last of Us Showrunner teases ‘radical changes’ in Season 2 from the game
HBO’s The Last of Us came to a breathtaking and highly divisive ending on Sunday, which was quite expected as the show emulated the game’s storyline. The final episode of Season 1 titled ‘Look For The Light’ was one of the shortest finales for any HBO TV show, and a few of the viewers felt it was rushed. The show has already been renewed for a season 2, and showrunner Craig Mazin recently talked about what we can expect from it.
How different will The Last of Us Season 2 will be from Part II?
In a Q&A session with ComicBook.com during a recent press event, Mazin teased about what we might get in Season 2 of The Last of Us. He said, “It will be different. Just as this season was different. Sometimes it will be different radically and sometimes it will be barely different at all. But it’s going to be different and it will be its own thing. It won’t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make.”
When does The Last of Us Season 2 begin filming?
In a recent interview with Collider, Pascal said, “In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We’re getting into spring? Yes, there is a chance. Yes.” The first season of The Last of Us took around 18 months to film. So, looking at the time gap, there’s a high probability that the second season won’t be here until 2025.
