The Last of Us Episode 3

Television giant HBO has been churning out hits-after-hits every year ever since its establishment. While 2022 belonged to the Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon, the year 2023 is off to a great start with The Last of Us. The video game adaptation’s pilot episode raked in a record number of viewers, sitting just behind House of the Dragon’s first episode in ratings. However, adapting a video game or a novel isn’t always an easy task, as The Last of Us also made some subtle changes while being converted for TV.

One of the changes made in the third episode of The Last of Us is meddling with the minds of the viewers, especially those who are familiar with the landscape around Boston. Even celebrated author Stephen King took to Twitter to point out the issue:

A number of fans also joined him in verifying if that really was the case:

Yeah. 10 miles west of Boston looks like that now. But civilization ended in 1993 according to the storyline, people. Consider the difference between 30 years ago and now 🤦🏻‍♀️
