Rose Leslie starrer HBO show Time Traveller's Wife begins production
Time-Traveling has been the topic of fantasy ever since human beings learned the concept of time and space. Notable authors like H. G. Wells (author of The Time Machine) have tried to show what it would be like to really own a Time Machine. HBO’s upcoming series, The Time Traveller’s Wife, will be narrating one such story, starring Game of Thrones’ Rose Leslie. HBO has announced that the sci-fi series has started production in New York, almost two years after the show was first ordered.
HBO’s new drama series is based on the novel by Audrey Niffenegger. Rose Leslie and Theo James have been tapped as the leads in The Time Traveller’s Wife. Adapted by former Dr Who head writer and Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat. The Time Traveller’s Wife tells the intricate love story of Clare (Leslie) and Henry (James), and a marriage with a problem… time-travel.
The six-episode first season of HBO’s The Time Traveler’s Wife is being adapted by Steven Moffat, credited both as executive producer and writer. Talking about the themes of The Time Traveler’s Wife, Moffat says:
“This is a story of loss but it’s not a tragedy. It’s about a time traveller but it’s not science fiction. Despite Clare and Henry’s time scrambled relationship, this is the tale of a grand, ordinary love – but not necessarily in that order. This is a dream project for me. I have always loved Audrey Niffenegger’s extraordinary, moving novel and it has inspired me many times, so to be adapting it for television is the thrill of a lifetime.”
Leslie welcomed her first baby with her husband Kit Harington earlier in January this year. What do you think about the upcoming sci-fi series? Tell us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones ended nearly two years ago. The cast and crew of the show have moved on to new ventures. Most have started working on new filming projects, like Richard Madden and Aidan Gillen. Some have done theatre for a change like Emilia Clarke and Indira Varma. While some, like Maisie Williams, have started their own podcasts.
Maisie Williams has launched her own film podcast, Frank Film Club. The Frank Film Club is a place where you don’t have to study film to have an opinion. The Game of Thrones actress’ new show takes a deep dive into cinema through the lens of four young women in the industry covering a wide range of genres: from pre-2000s to independent and box office, to documentaries and foreign language.
Frank Film Club (in a nutshell) is a film club for people who love films but get flustered when asked to articulate why – anything goes and everyone’s welcome! @frankfilmclub

Every Tuesday and Friday the hosts watch a film and get together to discuss their individual takes. Season one will cover films such as Pixar’s Soul, Boots Riley’s Sorry To Bother You and Ridley Scott’s Thelma And Louise.
“We really wanted to make a space where there’s no pressure to speak about film in a certain way, where we could be ourselves and enjoy the freedom of the discussion,” said Williams. “Frank Film Club is a place where you didn’t have to study film to have an opinion. We’re so grateful and excited to share it with listeners everywhere.”

Game of Thrones was a memorable experience for both the fans and the show’s crew. Rarely do we see a TV show achieve massive popularity as Game of Thrones did in the last decade. Many of the show’s crew have moved on to new projects, including showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. They are working on a new Netflix show, The Chair, along with Killing Eve star Sandra Oh. The Chair is co-produced and co-created by Benioff’s wife, the actress Amanda Peet, and is officially set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, August 27.
The premiere date was announced in a teaser posted on Netflix’s social media, recapping the show’s plot. Oh plays Professor Ji-Yoon Kim, the first female and woman of colour hired as the head of Pembroke University’s English department. Check out the teaser below:
The Pembroke Daily news clipping teases that Professor Kim’s hiring may have come “179 years too late”, but it also may be “a last-ditch effort” to save a department seen by the school as a “sinking ship”.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are also involved in a project that includes veteran actor Hugh Jackman. Are you excited about The Chair? Talk to us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones’ cast included a great number of actors and actresses who can be described as the most down-to-earth celebrities. Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo, is definitely one of them. Despite achieving great success as the superhero Aquaman, he has managed to stay true to his roots. The actor seems to enjoy checking out all of the cool things the world has to offer. Discovery has announced that Jason Momoa will headline a new docuseries called On the Roam. The show will see Momoa searching for artists and dreamers who are looking to master their own unique crafts.
Over the course of the show, the actor will travel across the country and meet up with various people, such as motorcycle fabricators, musicians and athletes. In a statement. Momoa expressed his excitement about teaming up with Discovery for the new venture:
“On the Roam is an endless quest for me to discover extraordinary people and places. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Discovery on this journey.”
The combination of Jason Momoa’s enthusiasm and Discovery’s knack for exciting programs should make On the Roam an enjoyable experience. On the Roam is expected to hit both Discovery and Discovery+ very soon.
Momoa recently wished Dwayne Johnson’s little daughter through a special video message on her birthday. Are excited about the new documentary series? Talk to us in the comments below!
