Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest phase 4 movie Eternals is closing in, and fans all over the world are looking forward to witnessing a little Game of Thrones union onscreen. Game of Thrones alums Richard Madden and Kit Harington are playing important roles in the movie, and we can’t wait for them to act together once again on screen. And meeting his old friend was surely emotional for Madden.

Extra” Special Correspondent Samantha Harris spoke with Richard Madden at the Los Angeles premiere of Eternals, where he opened up about reuniting with his Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington on set. He also talked about his friendship with his Eternals co-star Gemma Chan, they have been close friends for nearly a decade now.

Talking about Gemma, the Game of Thrones star said, “My best moments were with Gemma Chan, because she’s been my friend for 10 years. So for us to kind of just be working together everyday and kind of jumping into that, it was a joy.”

When asked about his reunion with Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, Madden replied, “It was great, again. It was that kind of thing, if you’re just there chatting with your buddy, and then God I gotta get on set and do acting! Together, with you! This is strange but again just joyous. It’s just lovely to be surrounded by really great people and really talented actors.”

MCU’s latest movie Eternals is closing in, and fans all over the world are looking forward to witnessing a little Game of Thrones union onscreen. Game of Thrones alums Richard Madden and Kit Harington are playing important roles in the movie, and we can’t wait for them to act together once again. And meeting his old friend was surely emotional for Harington, it was like a college reunion for him.

“Extra” Special Correspondent Samantha Harris spoke with Kit Harington at the Los Angeles premiere of Eternals, where he discussed reuniting with his Game of Thrones co-star Richard Madden on the movie. He said, “It did feel like that. I mean I’ve known him for what like 10 – 13 years or something is it? And then so working together on this was pretty special. We didn’t get a lot in Game of Thrones. That’s the thing. We didn’t get a lot in this. S0 if you actually added up our screen time together it’s very little. But our friendship time is a lot more.”

Talking to Variety about the same, Harington said, “We had a big hug. We’ve been close friends for a long time. We had a shared experience of “Game of Thrones” in the first three seasons — the three seasons that Richard was in — where it sort of blew up and became this Goliath of a show. And, you know, we were both 23. We’d kind of came up together and that creates quite a special bond. So actually, we have a very close friendship, but screen time doesn’t reflect that.”

Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is on its way, and we might get more glimpses of the highly awaited series very soon. Fans have huge expectations from the show, as HBO is leaving no stones unturned to make the series another great hit. However, after the shocking finale of Game of Thrones, people have varied opinions. Some find it difficult to believe House of The Dragon has the potential to be as good as Game of Thrones. Others feel the prequel might just be the next big thing on TV. And then there’s Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who says it would be painful to watch the Game of Thrones prequel.

In an interview with Insider, the actor explained, “There’s emotion connected to that for me. I think to see people get into outfits and costumes, that resemble what we wore for all those years, and it [has] the same music and style and tone, but not be in it is always going to feel — There’s going to be a rawness there.”

“Of course, I’m going to watch it and I’m going to support [co-showrunner] Miguel [Sapochnik], who’s helming the show,” Harington added. “I wish them all the best, but it’s so close to my heart, that story, that, of course, there might be a bit of pain there.”

Game of Thrones was an epic fantasy, there’s no doubt about it. There’s yet to be another show that has come close to the quality and popularity that George R. R. Martin’s creation achieved, but the future is looking bright and we have several contenders. One of them is Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, which is itself an adaptation of Robert Jordan’s 14-book series. The showrunner, Rafe Judkins, is aware of the comparison being made with Game of Thrones, but he’s looking hopeful.

In a recent GQ story, Judkins revealed that he sought advice for creating an epic fantasy series that did the books justice, stood on its own as an attractive new big-budget series for average audiences, and carved its own unique niche in a crowded fantasy entertainment space.

“Just do what you’re going to do, the Game of Thrones duo advised him, per the outlet. “You know what this is. You have to believe in it. These kinds of things have to have an extraordinary clarity of vision to work.”

The pressure on The Wheel of Time is immense, especially because of its comparison with Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones proved to be a huge success, a worldwide phenomenon that broke all records, and one of the best TV adaptations of a novel series.

But after a highly controversial final season, do you think Judkins did the right thing by turning to D & D for advice? Talk to us in the comments below!
