Red Keep gets repainted as Game of Thrones Season 8 filming gets closer to finishing

Game of Thrones might have already had its wrap party, but the show is still filming for Season 8. It does seem like many of the major stars have wrapped up their part of filming for the show, but it will be a few days before the show winds up production for good. The latest update has to do with the King’s Landing set, located at Titanic Studios, at Belfast, Northern Ireland, particularly with the Red Keep, which seems to have received a new paint job. Read on!

Now if you might remember, a couple of months ago, we had reported the addition of the Red Keep to this set, complete with an unusually saturated red color to it. Now, the color back then had captured everybody’s attention back then, and it looks like the building has gotten a new paint job, this time it’s white. Check it out, below:

Now, it is unknown whether the parts of filming with the Red Keep showing are done filming already. We know that HBO will be keeping this giant set as a tourist attraction post filming, but how will changing the color of the Red Keep, a building literally named after its color, do any good? There’s also a small chance that this is just a coat of primer, and the actual color will be painted on top of it, soon.

The set is undergoing other changes too. Construction work is ongoing, and parts of the set are being moved around:

With shooting taking place in Cushendun (and probably also near Saintfield) during the week, a lot of construction work was carried out at the Belfast set. Parts came flying in and out. There was some occasional smoke, but I doubt they filmed there at that time. pic.twitter.com/VaKqnnDPA1

GoTlike Locations also got some pictures of the Paint Hall set, which seems like it has had a lot of work done on it:

And finally a rare but amazing insight into the Paint Hall. Whatever this set is, there has been some serious damage. pic.twitter.com/Ktw3JAnfrY
