Actor Peter Dinklage is one of the most familiar faces in the film-making industry currently, and has played several iconic characters over the years. He has managed to break stereotypes, push away boundaries, and solidify his role as an accomplished showman. From playing Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, to starring in his wife’s musical Cyrano, Peter Dinklage has come a long way. He made quite the buzz back in 2018 when MCU’s Avengers: Infinity War was released, when he played Eitri the Dwarf King. He will now be seen playing a bounty hunter in the upcoming film The Thicket.

Based on a novel by Joe R. Lansdale, Dinklage is set to play the leader of a rag-tag group of bounty hunters named Reginald ‘Shorty’ Jones. The official synopsis reads:

“THE THICKET has been hailed as one of the best American crime novels to emerge in recent years. Set in tough, turbulent and feral East Texas in the early 20th century, this dark thriller follows the story of Jack, an innocent young man, who goes on an epic quest to rescue his sister after she has been kidnapped by a violent killer, Cut Throat Bill, and his gang. Jack enlists the help of a crafty bounty hunter named Shorty (Dinklage), a grave-digging alcoholic son of an ex-slave, and a street-smart prostitute. Together they track the girl into the deadly no-man’s land known as The Big Thicket – a place where blood and chaos reign.”

Production begins on February 27 in the Calgary area, according to Calgary Herald. Are you excited about The Thicket? Tell us in the comments below!
