Ommegang brewery reveals new Game of Thrones inspired beer

Game of Thrones inspires a lot of things in this world, be it fanfiction, artwork, music, or in this case, beer. Although a lot of characters on Game of Thrones prefer wine, most of the fans would love a beer that is inspired by their favourite fantasy drama. If you’re a beer lover and a Game of Thrones fan, your wish has been granted. The Ommegang brewery has recently introduced a Game of Thrones inspired beer, called the Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale.

Ommegang has previously created beverages like Take the Black Stout, and Three-Eyed Raven Dark Saison, which were Game of Thrones themed, and the newest one, according to Ommegang’s press release, is brewed with pilsner and specialty malts, and hopped with Apollo and Hallertau Spalt Select hops, which gives it a balanced touches of both sweetness and bitterness.

Here’s what they said about it:

“Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale, the latest beer in the Game of Thrones series from Brewery Ommegang and HBO Global Licensing, will be released next month in 750ml single bottles and on draft. But in a twist worthy of the hit series itself, Valar Dohaeris will also be released in a collectible gift pack alongside the previously released Valar Morghulis Dubbel Ale and a special commemorative glass. This will be the first time since its sold‐out run in fall 2014 that fans will be able to get their hands on Valar Morghulis.”

At the press release, the director of the company spoke about how HBO’s idea of the gift-pack makes it all the more exciting.

“When we got a sense of the season’s key plot points, we knew right away Valar Dohaeris was the new beer name and that bringing back Valar Morghulis was a must. And I think HBO’s fantastic idea to have the gift pack mimic the House of Black and White is really going to be a hit with fans. It looks killer and I think fans are going to scoop them up pretty quickly for gifts or for their own collections,”he said.

Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale will be available for purchase on October 10. Prices per bottle are $9.99, and the gift-pack is priced at $22.99.
