Nikolaj Coster-Waldau starrer God is a Bullet is at a standstill after the Game of Thrones star and three others test positive for Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated
The horrors of the COVID-19 pandemic don’t seem to end. The world has been suffering since the Red Wedding year 2020, and with the recent delta variant on the rise, things are looking serious once again. We lost a lot of important people in the wretched year, but it doesn’t seem like the curse has loosened its grip yet. Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, famous for playing Jaime Lannister on the show, is the latest celebrity to contract the virus, despite having being vaccinated and following all protocols.
Production for the upcoming action-thriller God is a Bullet has been temporarily suspended in Mexico after four cast members contracted Covid-19. According to a report by Daily Mail, the film’s main star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, actress Maika Monroe, Paul Johannson and director Nick Cassavetes all tested positive recently. The positive diagnosis comes despite all four being fully vaccinated.
The cast had been filming in Mexico City and other locations in the country since May and was due to shoot with Jamie Foxx in New Mexico this month.
We wish the cast and crew of the upcoming film a speedy recovery, and hopefully, they’ll get better very soon. Send in your well wishes in the comments below!
The production of a show or film is a painstaking and long process. No matter how carefully planned the project is, there’s bound to be some unexpected snag that delays the actual schedule by some time. Game of Thrones hit a lot of obstacles too during its course of filming. The worst one was at the very beginning itself, and the famous show was about to be cancelled because of the botched pilot. Something similar has happened with Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey’s new project, though for a different reason.
The White House Plumbers, an HBO series starring Headey and Woody Harrelson, has had its filming paused while the network launched an investigation following complaints about on-set behaviour.
A statement issued to Deadline reads: “HBO has received reports of alleged unprofessional behaviour on the set of White House Plumbers. We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure a respectful work environment on all our productions, and we are investigating the matter fully.”
According to the news, information from unnamed sources alleges an on-set incident occurred on Wednesday (August 4), between a member of the props department and director/executive producer David Mandel, which led to the entire props department walking offset. There are also claims it is not the only incident to have taken place on set.
A call sheet issued on Thursday night informed staff of the production pause, with a number for them to call to report concerns about behaviour on set. It is not known how long production will be paused.
Hopefully, the issue will be resolved quickly so we can watch Lena Headey’s amazing performance once again on TV. What do you think about the case? Tell us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones is dubbed as the greatest show of the 21st century by many, and is easily recognizable as a pop culture icon. The show keeps getting referenced in all walks of life, including sports, politics, movies etc. Recently, Warner Bros’ Space Jam: A New Legacy paid a beautiful homage to several of HBO’s classics, including Game of Thrones. However, an important and really interesting scene from the movie was cut out, that would have strengthened the bond between Space Jam and Game of Thrones.
#SpaceJamANewLegacy costume designer Melissa Bruning reveals she made a #GameofThrones suit of armor for LeBron James that never made it into the film https://t.co/n30kIWPyz5 pic.twitter.com/6mUgOHcUgE

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Space Jam 2 costume designer Melissa Bruning talked about the gruelling process of making costumes for the movie. “It was probably the most challenging project I’ve ever done,” she said.
The costume team worked furiously to create the new uniforms. “We just literally had to have somebody [stand] over a machine that printed [the uniforms] out,” she explained. One costume that was made didn’t make it into the film though: a Game of Thrones-style suit of armour. “I cried a little inside that that didn’t make it in,” says Bruning.
If LeBron had worn the Westerosi armour, it might have helped the film make a few more millions. Instead, we had Foghorn Leghorn living in the Game of Thrones world with Targaryen-style hair, riding a dragon and shouting “Winter is coming!”
Do you think Space Jam 2 would have been a greater success if LeBron James had worn the armour? Talk to us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones is one of the most decorated series in television history. The highly acclaimed series still holds the record for the most number of Emmy Awards won to date. The show’s cast is still winning heaps of praise and awards, showcasing their amazing talent. Actress Hannah Waddingham, who played the famous ‘shame’ nun Septa Unella, has been nominated for an Emmy this year. The 47-year-old actress almost couldn’t believe that she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the series Ted Lasso.
In an interview with E! News, Waddingham revealed she was really surprised and confirmed more than once that the Apple TV+ series had earned 20 Emmy nominations on July 13. “Well, my manager came into my hotel room and said it,” she exclusively told E! News. “And I went, ‘Hold on, make sure you’ve got that right first before I get excited.’”
After seeing her name on the list of nominees, Hannah was at a total loss for words. But, thankfully the Game of Thrones alum has since embraced the big news and is ready to celebrate. “I’m gonna get absolutely smashed out of my mind,” she said with a laugh. “Why not? The work’s done.”
Apart from Hannah Waddingham, four other Game of Thrones alums have been nominated for Emmy Awards this year. They include Charles Dance (The Crown), Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Die Hart).
Which of these actors do you think will win an Emmy for their respective categories? Tell us in the comments below!
