Nikolaj Coster-Waldau reveals when Game of Thrones season 8 filming begins
Game of Thrones Season 7 is almost over, with the sixth episode airing this Sunday, giving the season just a week of time left to finish. As you all know by now, Season 8 will have only six episodes, and it might not arrive before 2019. Now, we know that the wait for Season 7 itself was quite a lot, but we’re gonna have to wait even longer for Season 8. As of now, we don’t have much official information about Season 8, but we expect it to reveal itself as Season 7 finishes and pre-production phases of Season 8 begin. We now have an idea as to when Season 8 will start filming, thanks to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, who revealed it in a recent interview. Read on!
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently sat down with Collider, and spoke about script delivery and filming. He said :
“I knew what was going to happen for the first three seasons. After that, it’s been a season at a time. You get the scripts a month before we start shooting, or six weeks, and then you know what’s going to happen that season. But, I don’t know what’s going to happen next season. We go back in October, so maybe in the next few weeks, we’ll get the scripts and I’ll find out. I’m very curious.”
So there you go. If Nikolaj is correct, we should start getting all kinds of unofficial set photos from Season 8, come October. We expect the filming to last till February-March, so the season might end up releasing towards the end of 2018, or the beginning of 2019, and we hope it is the former, rather than the latter. We’re excited already! What about you? What are you looking forward to happening in Season 8? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
