Nikolaj Coster-Waldau nearly reveals a major Game of Thrones season 7 spoiler!
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains a potential major Game of Thrones Season 7 spoiler. Proceed at your own risk! Since it has been a long time since we last saw a new episode of Game of Thrones, cast interviews, especially the candid ones where the stars tend to reveal stuff we don’t know, are the ones we have been mooching off of. Season 7 is supposed to be arriving later than usual this year, with release scheduled for July 16th. The filming wrapped up by the end of February, which means that we are getting more cast interviews now as the stars actually have some time. Talking to The Daily Beast, about his latest film, Small Crimes, which premiered during the South by SouthWest Festival (SXSW), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ended up talking about Game of Thrones, eventually, well, because its Game of Thrones. That’s not it, he kinda sorta almost revealed a huge spoiler while he was at it.
The interviewer asked him about the Season 6 scene where Jaime gives a speech to Edmure Tully where he talks about his love for Cersei Lannister, trying to manipulate him. Nikolaj responded :
“I loved that. I’ve been lucky enough over the years to have a couple of those, and you think, “Oh, this is a really nice meal.” That’s what I like about Jaime: he’s lost his arm and just his presence used to be enough to sway people, and he doesn’t have that anymore—but he’s still got his mind. He’s not like his sister and brother, but he’s been on the battlefield his whole life, and knows about people’s weaknesses and loving someone unconditionally—because he loves his sister unconditionally. “
He continued :
“Plus, there are no other suitors. Well, that’s not true… but he has to step up and take his father’s place. Wow, I was about to reveal something from Season 7 and thought, “What am I doing?””
Wait what? Is Cersei going to be getting a new lover this season? It looks like it. We’ll place our bets on Euron Greyjoy, because we hear he has a thing for queens, and he’s one of the few probable candidates who will possibly side with Cersei because Yara Greyjoy and Theon Greyjoy are now teamed up with Daenerys Targaryen. This matches with the information that we have about a possible Cersei and Euron alliance and who knows, she might even marry him!
