Matt Smith spotted in Targaryen battle gear on House of The Dragon set
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is one of the high-priority projects at HBO currently. The production is moving swiftly despite hitting some minor obstacles along the way, as indicated by the regular leaks occurring all over the internet. Recently, some never-before-seen photos from the set were leaked by locals, and for the first time, we have an idea of what Matt Smith’s Daemon Targaryen will look like in Targaryen battle gear.
We can see in some of the pictures the crew is helping Matt get into what looks like a black leather armour. A few knights and soldiers in full body armour can be seen walking near him in another photo.
In one of the photos, Matt Smith, who’s playing Daemon Targaryen on the show, can be seen walking on the beach, his platinum blonde wig blowing in the wind as he rests one of his hands on his sword.
It looks like Daemon Targaryen is gearing up for a battle or a tourney. We couldn’t spot any dragon props or 3-D motion capture devices in the photos, so it strongly suggests they are preparing for a tourney. Depending on the timeline, we are looking at a few contenders, tourney held at King Viserys I’s ascension to the throne, tourney held on the fifth anniversary of King Viserys I and Queen Alicent’s marriage and the most plausible one being the tourney at King’s Landing for the wedding of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Ser Laenor Velaryon.
The last one seems the most obvious explanation as recent leaks of a young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Laenor Velaryon were circulating recently in media. What do you think? Tell us in the comments below!
