Mark Gatiss (Tycho Nestoris) shares his Game of Thrones ending pitch
Game of Thrones has a lot of great actors on board, but one stands out. Mark Gatiss, who runs Sherlock and Doctor Who, two of the most popular shows which are in the same league as Game of Thrones, plays the role of Tycho Nestoris, the Iron Banker, on Game of Thrones. What a fitting role, too, quite similar to the cunning Mycroft Holmes that he portrays in Sherlock. In a recent interview, Gatiss revealed his idea of how Game of Thrones should end, and it’s honestly one of the better ones we have heard, although it is a bit How I Met Your Mother-y, which means it’s unexpected, and the fans won’t like it. Read on!
Mark Gatiss recently talked to Metro, and he talked about how he pitched his ending to the Game of Thrones showrunners, David Benioff and Dan Weiss :
“I pitched to Dan and David, the showrunners, that I should be the last person alive in the show because obviously if anyone survives it is the banks.”
Well, it would be logical if the Iron Bank and the Citadel were the only places left standing as men fought men, but with the whole Whiter Walker problem, it seems less possible. Nevertheless, we do expect the Iron Bank to play a part in the end game. He went on to reveal how the showrunners reacted to this pitch :
“They just laughed at me. I could imagine one final shot where I just walk among the bodies of absolutely everyone, turn to the camera and say “next.””
It’s honestly not so bad, and reflects Gatiss’ own style. What are the chances that David and Dan actually took him up on his pitch? Would be a riot to watch! What do you think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
