Liam Cunningham (Davos) teases a bittersweet ending for Game of Thrones
Day by day we’re nearing the end of Game of Thrones. The show films for Season 8 as we sit back and speculate, and wait for any official information to hit us. In the meantime we have been getting a hell lot of interviews from the cast members, talking about the end. The show is at a point where only the few important cast members remain, and one of them is Ser Davos Seaworth, who is always the voice of reason. In a recent interview, Liam Cunningham, who plays the role of Davos, discussed the “bittersweet” end of Game of Thrones. Read on!
As we had reported, Liam recently won at the Irish Film and Drama Awards, and he spoke to RTÉ Entertainment while at the awards, about Game of Thrones, and how it’s time to end. Watch the video, below:
Speaking of the show nearing its end, Cunningham said:
“This thing always had a beginning, middle and an end, and as me Da used to say ‘Jesus it’s a bit dragged out isn’t it’, so we don’t want to drag it out.
We want to get out. We want to do like The Beatles or The Jam and get out at the top of it and get out before everyone hates us.”
He also talked about how he knows exactly what is going to happen, and how the end of the show is supposed to be bittersweet:
“George R. R. Martin, writer of the original books, described the end as ‘bittersweet’ and it is. That’s all you’re getting.”
He didn’t reveal much though, saying:
“Think I’m going to give you a scoop, I’d get shot!”
Well if you ask us, Davos becoming the king while everybody else dies defeating the White Walkers wouldn’t be a bad end to it. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
