Lena Headey congratulates Shame Nun Hannah Waddingham on her first Emmy win
Game of Thrones was like a huge family, consisting of varied personalities coming together to make a great show. No matter how adverse their roles were on-screen, they were quite friendly in real life. Take for example, the case of Cersei’s torturer Septa Unella. The two characters couldn’t see eye to eye in the fantasy series. However, in real life, Hannah Waddingham (Unella) and Lena Headey are close friends. Headey recently congratulated her friend on Instagram when she won her first Emmy Award.
Hannah Waddingham was named outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series during the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night for her role as Rebecca Welton on the beloved Apple+ series Ted Lasso. Headey posted a heartwarming congratulatory message to Waddingham on her Instagram, complete with a picture of Waddingham looking stunning in an asymmetrical peach-colored gown:

Though Lena never won an Emmy for her performance in Game of Thrones, no matter how deserving it was, we can understand her excitement when she found out her best friend had recently won her first Emmy. We just wish Lena had won her share as well, because she was exceptional on Game of Thrones as Cersei Lannister.
Let’s join Lena Headey in congratulating Hannah Waddingham on her Emmy win. Leave your well wishes in the comments below!
George R. R. Martin is one of the most famous fantasy writers of present times. If not for him, we wouldn’t be having the amazing world of Game of Thrones, HBO’s fantasy epic based on his A Song of Ice and Fire novels. Though much of his fanbase has grown weary of him, for making them wait for the next book in the series ‘Winds of Winter’, he is still a coveted literary figure, and no one can deny his importance in the entertainment industry.
Martin turned 73 on Monday, September 20, 2021, and birthday wishes have been pouring in for the veteran writer. He shared a nice poem about getting old on his blog Not a Blog:
“I grow old… I grow old…
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think that they will sing to me.
((with thanks to T.S. Eliot))”
It is true that Martin is getting old, and many fans are worried if he’ll ever get to finish his novels. However, it is also true that he has been promising fans he will deliver the much-awaited books, while he is still working on other projects. We can only hope he is true to his word. When you watch Game of Thrones, you always swear allegiance to a particular House or two, be it Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Stark, or Greyjoy. But when it comes to ice creams, it becomes a really tough choice. And one particular shop in Cornwall is not making it easy for Game of Thrones fans at all. A Game of Thrones ice cream shop, Game of Cones, located in Fowey, Cornwall, UK, is making your dreams come true, in the form of your favourite sweet and icy dessert.
The dessert shop in Cornwall sells your favourite ice creams and milkshakes with a Game of Thrones twist. Over 33 flavours are available on their menu for you to choose from, each sharing name with a character on HBO’s epic fantasy. There’s also a House of Dragons cabinet for people to sit and enjoy their delicacy. It sounds awfully similar to the name of HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel!
We know that Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon is being filmed at various locations in Cornwall, as many pictures have been leaked online with the cast in costume. Game of Cones will surely make a huge profit if the prequel lifts off.

Every year diehard Game of Thrones fans wait for the release of the yearly A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar that features some of the best artworks in the world. They depict the fantastical world of George R. R. Martin’s famous novel series. A few of the beautiful portraits were released early this year, two of them very recently. Penguin Random House released a calendar filled with images from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. The publication site has shared more images on its website, according to Los Siete Reinos.
The calendar for 2022 has illustrations from Spanish artist Arantza Sestayo. Earlier George R. R. Martin tweeted a pic from the calendar, announcing its release a few weeks ago. Two new pictures from the calendar were leaked recently. First up, there’s a lovely image of Sansa and Lady in the Winterfell godswood, before the direwolf is killed very early on in the story. Next, we have an image of Craster and his many wives and daughters who live with him beyond the Wall.
