The Last of Us’ Murray Bartlett reveals the real-life inspiration behind Bill & Frank’s love story
HBO’s The Last of Us was a unique take on post-apocalyptic horror, focusing more on the humane side of the storyline rather than zombie-infused jumpscares. There have been several fan theories about the series ever since the original video game was released, and several of them have been found to be true. The show’s star Murray Bartlett, who played Frank, reveals what inspired the love story in the episode “Long, Long Night.”
Murray Bartlett reveals his real-life partner inspired the relationship between Bill & Frank
In a recent interview with Deadline, Bartlett said, “Our relationship was a bit of a reference point for what [Nick Offerman] and I were doing in the episode. Because I was saying this to Nick, that we are both lucky to be in relationships where we found a partner that we have an incredible bond with, and we feel this deep love.”
“So, we were familiar with that, and we could bring that experience to what we were doing in episode three.”
The Last of Us Episode 3 has been submitted for Emmy consideration
According to an exclusive report by Variety, HBO has submitted The Last of Us Episode 3 ‘Long, Long Time’ to be considered for an Emmy Nomination in the Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series (One Hour) category. The episode was shot by Eben Bolter and Ksenia Sereda.
The Last of Us is eyeing multiple Emmy nominations
