Kit Harrington talks about Oathbreaker's ending
Last night episode of Game of Thrones shows us that Jon Snow has left the watch and Castle Black. After his resurrection, he had to execute the mutineers, and they involved Olly, who was just a teenager. Throughout it was being speculated that Oathbreaker might be about Brienne since her sword’s name is Oathkeeper. But it was all about Jon breaking the Oath of Night’s Watch. Though there is one line in the Oath taken by the Night Watchers which says, “Night gathers and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death..” and Jon Snow had died. Thus, his watch ended there.
Kit Harrington spoke with EW about this Sunday episode’s ending and said that, “He’s done with it. He’s seen the other side, seen what’s there, and comes back and realizes he needs to lead his life and get out of there. This place betrayed him, and everything he stood for has changed. Plus, he had to kill a child, Olly, and that’s what really does it. He kills an underage kid and he can’t see the point in being up there anymore. At the heart of it, he knows by staying at the Wall he can’t help the kingdoms and he’s probably going to die very quickly if he stays.”
He further explains how death changed Jon Snow and how Kit was worried at first about Jon being the same person after resurrection and says, “At first, I was worried that he’ll wake up and he’s the same, back to normal — then there’s no point in that death, He needs to change. There’s a brilliant line when Melisandre asks: ‘What did you see?’ And he says: ‘Nothing, there was nothing at all.’ That cuts right to our deepest fear, that there’s nothing after death. And that’s the most important line in the whole season for me. Jon’s never been afraid of death, and that’s made him a strong and honorable person. He realizes something about his life now: He has to live it because that’s all there is. He’s been over the line and there’s nothing there. And that changes him. It literally puts the fear of God into him. He’s seen oblivion, and that’s got to change somebody in the most fundamental way there is. He doesn’t want to die ever again. But if he does, he doesn’t want to be brought back.”
Things will just get better from here.
Game of Thrones refined the way we view TV shows. One of the many reasons why the show reached great heights was its character development. When it comes to that category, no character has gone through greater change than the Kingslayer Jaime Lannister.
Played by Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jaime started out as a villain. He was responsible for crippling Brandon Stark after he accidentally discovered his incestuous relationship with his sister, Cersei. Jaime was the one who captured Ned Stark leading him to his execution at King’s Landing.
The author of the Game of Thrones books George R.R. Martin originally had different plans for Jaime Lannister. Fans got a glimpse of a 3-page reveal when Harper Collins, publisher of A Song of Ice and Fire, accidentally leaked it on Twitter. The tweet was later removed.
According to the script, Jaime Lannister was supposed to be one of the main antagonists. He was originally written to be a cruel-sadistic villain, who desired power over everything else. His lust for control over the realms even led him to sit on the Iron Throne for a while. The showrunners changed the script for the show.
The Kingslayer goes through a change of heart throughout the TV series. He protected Brienne of Tarth’s honor and saved her from the attack of a bear. The two eventually got close and shared a mutual respect. Jaime joined forces with the Starks and Daenerys to fight off the White Walkers.
His character was shown to be regretful of his past actions. He died trying to protect his sister when Daenerys attacked King’s Landing. He could never let go of his love for Cersei, which led to his downfall. To think that could have ended another way!

Ever since its announcement, fans all around the world are going crazy over the rumors of casting for the Game of Thrones’ prequel House of the Dragon. Fans have been debating about the best choice for The Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen, over the last few weeks.
The House of the Dragon series is based on George R. R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood. The book covers the first 150 years of House Targaryen’s rule in Westeros. The show will be allegedly centered around The Dance of the Dragons, a civil war that happened about 170 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The casting call for Daemon was recently published. It said that HBO seeks an actor between the ages of 40 and 50 years old. It solidifies the theory because Daemon was middle-aged when the civil war began.
The character description for Daemon is as follows:
“The younger brother to King Viserys, Daemon wasn’t born with ‘naked ambition’ for the throne despite being in line for it. He’s less methodical and more impetuous. Not to mention easily bored… stumbling from one distraction to the next with the subconscious yet singular obsession with earning the love and acceptance of his brother the king. Most of Daemon’s joy is found at sword-point. But even as the most experienced warrior of his time, he vacillates between vile and heroic, making him the true rogue of the series.”
Full offense, Patrick Wilson could play Daemon Targaryen and I’d be DELIGHTED. https://t.co/bN5gAnyWfC

Diana was a dazzling actress and a compassionate and kind human being. Her presence was comforting and inspiring for her co-stars, so was the beauty with which she executed her roles. Other than Game of Thrones, she starred in the 1960’s The Avengers, the Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and many more.
We as fans pray that her soul rests in peace. Please feel free to share your feelings with us in the comments below.
