Kit Harington says his child is a direct result of Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones protagonist Jon Snow remains one of the greatest roles actor Kit Harington has ever played. His name is synonymous with the show’s character, who has now turned into a pop culture icon. However, unlike his character who ‘knows nothing’, Kit seems to have learnt a lot about fatherhood ever since he had a baby with his wife Rose Leslie (Ygritte). He is thankful to Game of Thrones, as his little family is a direct result of his meet with Leslie on the show.
Kit told SiriusXM in The Jess Cagle Show, “I think that, you know, the old expression of a good war or a bad war… I had a good pandemic.”
“I say that because, you know, when you’re in a relationship or a marriage where you both act, you can tend to just have a lot of time away from each other and what we were gifted with this was forced time together. And because of that, we ended up having a baby. That’s the major thing that came out of the pandemic for me was becoming a father.”
“So I had a quite profound and amazing experience during this last year and a half. And yeah, of course it was anxiety-inducing and strange and odd and I didn’t see my friends and family, but on the whole, my friends and family are all healthy, I’m now a father. On the whole I had a very lucky experience over the past year and a half. I know other who haven’t.”
“I think we’re all thanking our lucky stars for that one. Met my wife, my child is a direct result of ‘Game of Thrones’. I still have very, very good friends from that show. It did nothing but wonders for me.”

Friends are the most beautiful asset one can behold in life. Sometimes they get closer to you than your own family. Game of Thrones stars are famous for maintaining great friendships behind-the-set. There are many BFF duos like Sophie Turner-Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke-Nathalie Emmanuel, Gethin Anthony-Gwendoline Christie to name but a few. Sometimes we lose touch with our friends, and it often seems like they have drifted away. Actress Maisie Williams, however, is making sure there’s no such issue with her BFF Sophie Turner.
Speaking on the Table Manners podcast, she said: “She played my sister so we were like sisters. We got the role at the same time and we grew up on the show together and it was so amazing to have another person who was going through it at the same time because I think I just would have, it would have been too much otherwise.”

“I just got very anxious in public settings all the time. Now, I feel like I’ve had a big break from it and I’m much better with public-facing. My whole adolescence I felt I couldn’t hang out with my friends. I wasn’t at school. Now all of a sudden everyone in the whole world was doing the same thing. It felt really nice. I’ve loved lockdown. There was no FOMO.”
“Being a teenager is hard, then I was also on this show. I never knew who I was but I’ve come out the other side now. I’m not that different to the girl I was trying to be – but I was having a crisis,” she added.

A live-action remake of sci-fi fantasy Dune is on the rise, and fans all over the world are highly excited about it. The cast and the crew are equally thrilled about its release, especially Jason Momoa. Having played big roles in famous franchises such as Game of Thrones and DCEU, Momoa has some useful advice for director Denis Villeneuve: “Do not trim it!” It looks like Momoa has learned that lesson from the Justice League’s Snyder Cut Edition.
Momoa told The New York Times, “It was a cool movie. You know what they need to do? They need to make the four-to-six hour version of the first half. It’s like, ‘Let’s watch the four-to-five-hour movie like a TV show; I can choose when I want to watch the whole thing.’ I want to see Denis’s whole vision. I don’t want it to be trimmed.”
Momoa has always been an ardent supporter of Zack Snyder and his vision for the DCEU. And it seems like he wants the same for the Dune movie universe (if it is successful, we are talking about sequels here). He was really happy when Zack Snyder’s dream was realized and congratulated him on the film’s release.
Dune is set to release in theatres and on HBO Max on October 22. Are you excited about the movie? Talk to us in the comments below!
Game of Thrones was a remarkable show, with tonnes of memorable scenes. From the breath-taking scenery to the vicious dragons, the show proved to be the wonderland of fantasy lovers. However, there were a few scenes that were disturbing to the fans and cast alike. For example, the rape scene of young Daenerys. And the show’s star Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo, doesn’t seem to like recalling the scene.
Momoa was asked by The New York Times if he regrets performing the scene on Game of Thrones. He seemed visibly uncomfortable, and replied, “Well, it was important to depict Drogo and his style. You’re playing someone that’s like Genghis Khan. It was a really, really, really hard thing to do. But my job was to play something like that, and it’s not a nice thing, and it’s what that character was. It’s not my job to go, ‘Would I not do it?’ I’ve never really been questioned about ‘Do you regret playing a role?’ We’ll put it this way: I already did it. Not doing it again.”
After the interview, Momoa circled back to the “Thrones” question and told the reporter that it “left a bad feeling in my stomach.”
“When you brought up ‘Game of Thrones,’ you brought up stuff about what’s happening with my character and would I do it again. I was bummed when you asked me that,” Momoa said. “It just feels icky — putting it upon me to remove something. As if an actor even had the choice to do that. We’re not really allowed to do anything. There are producers, there are writers, there are directors, and you don’t get to come in and be like, ‘I’m not going do that because this isn’t kosher right now and not right in the political climate.’ That never happens. So it’s a question that feels icky. I just wanted you to know that.”
