Joe Dempsie says he's afraid of letting slip Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers
Game of Thrones has had a lot of cliffhangers, but the biggest one was when Gendry went rowing and never showed up, until Season 7. We have seen the all new Gendry, and he’s a bit of a badass. He is like the best of Davos Seaworth and Robert Baratheon put together, and that really makes an interesting character development, and Season 8 is expected to do him justice. In the meantime, Joe Dempsie, who plays the role of Gendry, recently revealed that he’s afraid that he might let slip some details about Game of Thrones Season 8, with all the interviews he has been doing. Read on!
Dempsie is promoting his new his new show, Deep State, and in a recent interview with Metro, he revealed that much like how Gendry revealed to Jon Snow that he is Robert Baratheon’s bastard, Dempsie himself might reveal details about Season 8:
“We’re in the midst of shooting season 8, and a few months back in October we got sent the scripts for the final season and it was a really strange feeling.”
He talked about the sinking feeling that the show is ending, that many of his co-stars have discussed, and how he could spill the beans:
“I remember getting to the end of that final episode and knowing that that was it, there wasn’t gonna be any more Game Of Thrones, and the idea that I have to now carry that around in my head between now and 2019 when it comes out…I’m gonna be drunk at various points! I don’t know if I trust myself.”
He continued:
“Even just walking around with those scripts in my mind and on me, it felt like this sort of huge secret that the world wants to know.”
Well, he’s right about the world wanting to know, but let’s hope Dempsie can keep a secret till then. What do you guys think will happen with Gendry in Season 8? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
