Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) has to tell Game of Thrones fan that he is not a eunuch in real life
Game of Thrones is a huge show, and as such, its stars share some of the fame, as well. Now, we know fame can take its toll, but what happens when your fans can’t separate your real life persona from the character you play? Jacob Anderson, who plays Grey Worm on the the show, has been facing this exact problem.
As you know, Grey Worm on the show, is a eunuch, which means that he has no genitals. In an interview withThe Daily Star, Jacob said that some of of his fans think that he is one as well. Imagine the sheer awkwardness when a fan questions you about the presence of genitals! Talking about how fans can be a bit too weird at times, Jacob said :
“To me my careers are completely separate but for some Game Of Thrones fans it’s too much for them to understand.
In fact, a lot of people don’t like it.
Some fans just don’t understand that Grey Worm isn’t a real person.
People actually ask me if I have genitals in real life. They really think I’ve been castrated. They also ask if the dragons are real. Sometimes people are taking the piss but others really can’t understand it is not real life.”
Of course, sometimes attention from the fans can be a bit overwhelming, especially if the celebrity in question is a private person. Echoing this very issue, Jacob said :
“It’s a bit weird and alarming actually. I like to keep myself to myself so it is a bit freaky when you’re stuck on a tube and someone is just staring at you or trying to take a picture of you.”
Well, we guess that’s what you have to trade in to be a part of such a spectacular TV show. Although we’re sure that the perks outweight the awkward fan interactions. Talking about the filming experience, Jacob said :
“It’s like going on a massive holiday camp for six weeks. I get to mess about with my friends and film the best show on TV at the same time.”
Jacob Anderson has already finished filming for Season 7, which is earlier than many of his co-stars, which makes us wonder whether Grey Worm will die in the middle of the season. When asked about this, Jacob chose to remain silent and not give out any information. He said :
“Confidentiality contracts mean I’m not allowed to say anything, and to be honest I wouldn’t dare.”
Season 7 will finish filming by the end of February, and premiere in the summer. The wait is long, but we expect the season will be better than any before, and thus worth the wait. In the meantime, talk to us in the comments, below!
