IMDb has listed Game of Thrones season 7 release date and you are not going to like it
Game of Thrones season 6 ended on a high note and it was definitely one of the best season finale we had in Game of Thrones till date. However, soon after the season got over, the fans received a bad news regarding the next season and HBO confirmed that the next season would premiere later than usual and that there would be only 7 episodes, instead of the usual 10. The decision was taken as the Game of Thrones team wanted to film scenes during winter, and that meant the shooting started in September instead of July and it will get over in Feb. As a result, the season 7 premiere date has been pushed back from Spring to Summer. However, till now we haven’t been given any idea regarding when we can expect the season to premiere.
Most of the people are expecting a date in late May or June but now we might have a definite answer and you are not going to like it. On the IMDb page for Game of Thrones season 7, it has been mentioned that Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere on 25th of June! We don’t know how true this is but if it’s true, it means that the 7th season of Game of Thrones will premiere exactly 2 months after the 6th season premiere date. The sixth installment of Game of Thrones had premiered on 25th April and the exciting episode 10 had aired on 27th June. This means, Game of Thrones season 7 premiere will happen just 2 days prior to the date on which Game of Thrones season 6 finale had aired a year ago!
Taking into consideration that the 7th season has only 7 episodes, the season will premiere on 25th June and the season finale will air on 6th August! We know that there has been no official announcement regarding the season 7 premiere date and we must take this with a pinch of salt but even during season 6, IMDb had mentioned on it’s page that Joseph Mawle (Benjen Stark) was going to return in episode 6 and it did turn out to be true. Hence we can’t completely ignore this release date mentioned on IMDb as just a speculative date.
That’s not the only thing that has been mentioned on the page. IMDb has also listed the actors who are going to appear in the season 7 premiere and it’s pretty interesting. We will break it down into groups depending on where the characters were at the end of last season. All these groupings are based on speculation and the last known location of these characters.
North:
Kit Harington, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Aidan Gillen, Kristofer Hivju, Tim McInnerny (Robert Glover), Megan Parkinson, Daniel Portman, Bella Ramsay, Richard Rycroft (Maester Wolkan), Sophie Turner, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Ellie Kendrick, Ben Crompton.
Looking at the above names, we can speculate that Bran and Meera will cross the Wall and meet Edd Tollett. Back at Winterfell, we will get to meet all the characters who were present when Jon Snow was proclaimed as the King in the North. We will also meet a new character played by Megan Parkinson. We had seen her on the sets with Kit Harington but there has been no news about the character that she’s playing. The only thing that we know is that she’s playing a Northern girl in season 7.
King’s Landing:
Lena Headey, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jerome Flynn, Anton Lesser (Qyburn)
As expected, we will get to see the main characters in King’s Landing. It will be interesting to see the relationship between Jaime and Cersei now that he has seen what Cersei has turned into.
Riverlands:
Paul Kaye (Thoros of Myr), Rory McCann, Carice van Houten, Maisie Williams.
The Brotherhood Without Banners and the Hound were last seen heading towards the North but it’s interesting to see that Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion) hasn’t been mentioned in this list. Jon Snow had banished Melisandre after he came to know what she had done and it’s possible that she might have reached the Riverlands by now and Arya might still be in the Twins with the other Freys.
Iron Islands:
Pilou Asbæk
Euron Greyjoy might be ready with his newly built navy and eager to make new alliances, now that Theon and Yara have teamed up with Daenerys.
Team Daenerys:
Emilia Clarke, Jacob Anderson, Peter Dinklage, Nathalie Emmanuel, Conleth Hill, Alfie Allen, Gemma Whelan, Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand), Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand), Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (Tyene Sand), Indira Varma, Diana Rigg.
Daenerys and her allies were last seen sailing towards Westeros and we might see her landing on some part of Westeros when season 7 airs. It possible that she heads straight for King’s Landing.
The Reach:
John Bradley, Jim Broadbent, Hannah Murray, James Faulkner, Tom Hopper (Dickon Tarly).
We will finally get to see Jim Broadbent and there are speculations that he will be playing the role of Archmaester Ebrose. It might be possible that he trains Samwell. At Horn Hill, we will get to meet Randyll Tarly and his son Dickon, who has been recast in season 7.
Unknown:
Iain Glen
Ser Jorah Mormont is back! We don’t know where he went after Daenerys ordered him to find a cure for Greyscale in season 6, but we feel that he will visit Old Town to cure himself and it’s possible that he might meet Samwell but these are just speculations.
