The fans were shocked by the tremendous scale of the Battle of the Bastards on Game of Thrones. Everyone was left breathless as they witnessed Ramsay take the upper hand initially in the battle and nearly beat Jon Snow and his army with a superior combat plan. And they watched and felt relieved when Petyr Baelish comes to the rescue at Sansa’s behest and turn the tides in Jon’s favor. There is yet to be a battle sequence on TV to rival the brutality of that episode.

Is there any battle in House of the Dragon that will rival Battle of the Bastards?

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stunt coordinator Rowley Irlam, who has worked both on Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, was asked the same question. He replied:

“If I didn’t top those episodes, I’d still be very proud of what we’ve done. But we haven’t given up, and the desire is always to go bigger and better — but to not repeat. We don’t want “Battle of the Bastards 2” or “Hardhome 2” or “Spoils of War 2.” We’re always trying to find new sequences we can get our teeth into.”

Can a Battle of the Bastards-like scene be filmed in the sea?

Irlam had previously hinted that there is a massive sea battle in Season 2 of House of the Dragon. On being asked if it will reach the level of the famous Game of Thrones episode, he said, “The desire is to expand our repertoire to a large sea battle. You can do a sea battle in a car park, but it won’t necessarily feel the same. But there are water tanks, and there’s a tank here in Leavesden. If you’re going to do it, I think you need to do it in a tank. But let’s see what happens.”
