After years of anticipation, fans finally got their desire for a Game of Thrones prequel with the release of House of The Dragon Season 1 last year. As anticipated by George R. R. Martin, House of The Dragon has a bright future after a successful debut with the first episode. The author described it as being “dark, powerful, visceral, disturbing, and stunning to look at.” And truer words couldn’t have been spoken.

House of the Dragon opens with a bang

Until the arrival of The Last of Us earlier this year, House of the Dragon raked in a record number of views within its premiere week. According to a report, House of the Dragon collected 741 million minutes during the first week of its premiere. Fans loved the cheerful beginning of the pilot episode, introducing young Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) and young Alicent (Emily Carey), and the quirky and unpredictable Daemon Targaryen. The horrifying death of Aemma Arryn (Sian Brooke) at the end of the episode left an everlasting mark on the viewers that persisted during the entire run of the series.

House of the Dragon season 2 is more than half done, and there’s a lot that happened in Season 1. As Alicent and Rhaenyra grew up, their relationship grew sour, and a lot of it wasn’t even their fault, but the environment they grew in. King Viserys tries his best to keep his family together till his last breath, but the animosity between the two groups has passed down to the children, and has brought the entire family to a massive war that will consume them entirely.
