Hot Pie from Game Of Thrones starts his own bakery named “You Know Nothing Jon Dough”
Game of Thrones has a roster of characters, none of which are uninteresting enough to be ignored. One of the best characters we got to see making a comeback in the latest episode of Season 7, is Hot Pie. Our prime candidate for Azor Ahai (just kidding) was surprised by Arya Stark, who came back to have some of his famous pie. The actor behind the role, Ben Hawkey, seems to be quite like the character, himself. Ben has now started his own bakery, and the name is a Game of Thrones pun : “You know nothing John Dough“.
The bakery launched to coincide with Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere, and it is a pop-up bakery which works exclusively through Deliveroo. The best part is that the bakery will have a specialty in the form of Direwolf bread, that Hot Pie makes for Arya Stark, as seen on Game of Thrones. The loaves are made from wholewheat cornbread with orange zest, and are best served slightly warm with soft butter. Speaking of them toDigitalSpy, Ben said :
“Hot Pie’s Direwolf loaves are a favourite for Game of Thrones fans, and people are always asking me for the secret of my recipe. I can’t share that, but Deliveroo customers will have the chance to try them themselves. You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit, it comes to you.”
A Deliveroo spokesperson commented :
“It’s brilliant that we have been able to help Ben realise his dream of opening a real-world bakery, bringing a classic piece of on-screen cuisine to the real world. At Deliveroo we want to make good on our promise to widen access to the world’s best food, whether it’s from ours or from Westeros.”
The Direwolf loaves cost just £1 each on launch day, and following that, the orders are sold out. The plans to re-open the bakery orders are yet unknown, but we have a positive feeling about it. What do you think? Would you like to have a Direwolf loaf? Tell us in the comments, down below!
