HBO throws shade at ‘The Rings of Power’ with ‘Game of Thrones’ ad for Max
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon’s biggest competitor is Amazon’s The Lord of The Rings series: The Rings of Power. Though House of The Dragon outshined Rings of Power in multiple award shows, fans are eagerly looking forward to watching the second season of both the series. HBO is currently busy promoting its new merged streaming service, Max. One of the ad posters cheekily makes fun of The Rings of Power.
“The One to Watch When You Want to Rule Them All.”
HBO’s latest advertisement poster for Max features Daenerys Targaryen in full regal attire sitting on the Iron Throne, with the new motto being: “The One to Watch When You Want to Rule Them All.” The Lord of The Rings fans know it is very similar to the famous quote from the films and Tolkien’s books: “The one ring to rule them all.”
