Game of Thrones Season 7 finished a while ago, and Season 8 is currently filming. We know Season 7 arrived later than usual, and we have heard from multiple sources that Season 8 will be late too, with most pointing to a 2019 release, and now we have an official confirmation, from HBO itself. Read on!
HBO gave the confirmation in a concise blog post. The post also named the directors, writers, and executive producers :
“David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik will be the directors for the new season. Writers for the new season are David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.
The executive producers of the series are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.”
Nothing new here, just an official confirmation that we are gonna have to spend the whole of 2018 without Game of Thrones. The release date wasn’t released, nor was it revealed when approximately in 2019 the show will return, so we will update you on that when we hear of it.
