Cheer on Game of Thrones fans! We finally have some news on the possible release date of one of the prequels, House of the Dragon. Speaking recently to Variety, HBO programming chief, Casey Bloys, talked about the release date of the show as well as about now canceled Bloodmoon. Read on to find out more!

Even before Game of Thrones had ended its run there were talks of multiple prequels being in store for its fans. Well, at least one looks all set to see the light of the day. As per Bloys, the team is

“in the room breaking story right now. … My guess is we’ll see it on the air in ’22.”.

Bloys also spoke about the unfortunate cancellation of prequel starring Naomi Watts, Bloodmoon. He said:

“Pilots — sometimes they come together, sometimes they don’t, and I would say that was very much the case here. There’s nothing I would point to and say ‘Oh, this was the problem.’ … That [prequel] was 8,000 years before the current show, so it required a lot more invention. One of the benefits of ‘House of the Dragon’ is there was a text from George and there was a little bit more of a roadmap. [Goldman’s prequel] did have more challenges in terms of establishing a world, but I think she handled that beautifully… there wasn’t one glaring thing.”

Well, at least fans will have something to look forward to! Tell us your thoughts on the possible release date of the House of the Dragon in the comments below.
