Game of Thrones Season 7 has been doing really well, but while it’s going on, HBO is sort of under siege. You must be aware of the massive leak that HBO is facing right now, where the hackers claim to have about 1.5 TB of sensitive data, including some executive e-mails. The hackers have since then, asked for $6.5 million to stop the data from being leaked. HBO hasn’t succumbed to the threat, so the hackers have started leaking the data out in batches, by e-mailing the data to all major media outlets, which seems like a plan to prove the legitimacy of their claims. In the latest batch, the hackers have shared their new exploits, reported Mashable, and that contains the login details, including passwords, of almost all HBO social media accounts. Read on!
The hackers seem to be choosing to threaten HBO with newer information, everyday. This latest dump doesn’t have any Game of Thrones information, but instead has the login details of HBO’s social media accounts. The accounts which the hackers have managed to breach include @HBO, @GameOfThrones, and @WestworldHBO , as well as a lot of Instagram accounts, as well as Giphy accounts, with the passwords listed in a text file the hackers mailed to major media outlets. Mashable says they didn’t verify the details themselves.
The e-mail also claims that the hackers have access to several HBO Platforms already, and made a statement that will definitely get HBO’s attention :
“Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible.”
Several of HBO’s Giphy accounts have been vandalised, and the hackers included screenshots of the same in the e-mail. Check one out, below :
HBO declined to comment, but they have said before that they’re not playing the game, so we don’t think anything’s changed now. More on this as it proceeds. What do you think HBO should do? Tell us in the comments, down below!
