George R.R. Martin’s ‘Night of The Cooters’ to feature at Midwest Weirdfest
Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is one of the most accomplished novelists today, with several best-selling books under his belt. The veteran author is already associated with a bunch of new shows, including Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. Martin’s novels, films, and TV shows have gone on to win several awards, including Night of The Cooters which won the ‘Best Science Fiction Short’ at the LA Shorts International Film Festival. The film will also be featured this year at the MidWest WeirdFest.

MidWest WeirdFest is a cinematic celebration of all things fantastic, frightening, underground, paranormal, off-beat, and just plain weird. Now in its 7th year, the fest consistently ranks in the top 100 film festivals on the planet, on the world’s leading film festival site FilmFreeway.
What is The Night of The Cooters about?
Based on the classic short story by Howard Waldrop, NIGHT OF THE COOTERS tells the tale of the day the Martians invaded Pachuco, Texas. Vincent d’Onofrio directed the short film, and stars as Sheriff Lindley. Have a look at the official trailer:
