George R. R. Martin confirms that he watches Game of Thrones. Says recent reports were mistranslated
Game of Thrones is one of the best shows ever, and we owe it all to George R. R. Martin. As you know, the story of the show is now past the books, and George is currently working on the next book, The Winds of Winter. We recently reported about a supposed statement by George which said that he doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, but in a new statement, George has now confirmed that the reports were false, and that he does watch the show. Read on!
The recent reports emerged from George’s time at a Russian fan convention. George spoke to EW via e-mail, and said that he didn’t remember saying that he doesn’t watch the show, and that his statements were likely mistranslated. The report by EW said:
“During his trip abroad he didn’t watch any television — and he’s behind on Thrones‘ current seventh season. So perhaps that was a source of confusion. But Martin does watch the series.”
So, it looks like George is just lagging behind on Season 7, but he does avoid discussing the storylines, now that the story of the show has surpassed the books. We, for one, cannot wait for the season finale, which airs this Sunday. What about you? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
