Game of Thrones will film Dragonpit scenes for longer than expected
Game of Thrones Season 8 is expected to be a very extensive production, and we have been bringing you all the filming updates. Now, we know that the production is currently busy filming at the Magheramorne Quarry set, which has the giant green screen, with the King’s Landing set at Titanic Studios being readied for filming. While Northern Ireland is the prime location for Game of Thrones filming, the show has been known to visit Spain every now and then, and like we recently reported, the show will be back to Seville for Season 8, to film Dragonpit scenes. It seems now that the production might film there for longer than expected. Read on!
Now, as we had recently reported, the show is returning to Seville, Spain to film Dragonpit scenes, and we even had a schedule for the filming. It had been said that the amphitheater, where Dragonpit scenes were filmed, would be closed till May 2, and the entire city would be closed between May 3 and May 18, switching to partial close-down till May 27. That indicated filming dates to be May 3 to May 18, but now a new report by Los Siete Reinos, says otherwise.
The filming is apparently scheduled to go on between April 23 and May 19, which is a month’s worth of shooting, which means we’re going to get a lot of meaning that the production will be shooting for nearly a month. It looks like the Dragonpit will have a sizable importance in the upcoming season. We currently have Winterfell filming that has wrapped up after extensive filming at three different locations, and it is set to be followed by King’s Landing filming, which seems to be based in three locations, as well, with Dubrovnik having wrapped up, the Titanic Studios set and Seville being the ones remaining to film.
Itálica: beside the amphitheater (Dragonpit in S7E7) there is a vast archaeological site of an ancient Roman city. No idea, if any of these areas would be used for S8 filming. The amphitheater is well protected from prying eyes, the other parts aren’t necessarily. pic.twitter.com/pJScJMQrzT
