Game of Thrones star John Bradley wants to play a Batman villain
Samwell Tarly is the resident good guy on Game of Thrones, with all of his valiant good deeds popular in the world of Westeros along with his adorable demeanor. Considering the doom that is hovering around the world of Game of Thrones after the end of season 6, there hasn’t been much hope for many characters on the show this time. However, Samwell’s life seems to have taken a turn for the better after he was spotted in the Citadel library in his fanboy moment of joy admiring the millions of books.
Sam might be a dedicated reader and fanboy on the show, but the actor who portrays him, John Bradley, is hardly that much of a book lover. During a Reddit Ask Me Anything conversation, Bradley revealed that reading for fun is something new to him.
“It’s true that I didn’t read a book that wasn’t about football for pleasure until I was 16 years old,” he wrote. “But just recently I’ve discovered a love of reading for pleasure.”
Bradley plays a good guy on Game of Thrones, but in a parallel universe he says that he’d like to play a Batman villain. And it’s not just any villain, Bradley apparently wants to play The Penguin.
Here’s what he said,“I’d really love to have a go at playing The Penguin in a Batman movie because I think it’d be so interesting to try and do a psychologically valid Penguin. He lives so much in the comic book world, it would be nice to try and find a way to give him some credibility and justification and make him a presence in the real world.”
Most of us Game of Thrones fans are Batman fans as well, and having to watch our dear old Sam play a bad guy would actually be pretty interesting! Do you agree? Tell us in the comments.
