Interview
Game of Thrones showrunner on Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys: “She was our one true queen”

There are some roles that an actor is said to be born for. When you look at a story, you read about a character, you picture in your mind who would be perfect for that role. Game of Thrones was famous for its on-point casting, as it got every single character right down to the T. Actress Emilia Clarke was perfect as the Mother of Dragons, and Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff agrees with that.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Benioff explained over email why Clarke was the perfect casting choice for Daenerys. He said, “Many were good at the first scene. A few were good at the second. Only Emilia made both work. And she made them work far better than the words on the page. It was impossible to imagine anyone else in the role: she was our one true queen. And frankly, she just has that mysterious quality that makes an actor special, that makes you want to watch them. When you find someone who matches that star quality with serious acting chops… well, you hire them.”
Game of Thrones season 8 was highly controversial, and even if you loved it or hated it, you can’t deny the fact that Emilia Clarke’s performance as Daenerys was unmatched. Do you agree with David Benioff? Talk to us in the comments below!

I agree with David Benioff’s assessment, of Emilia Clarke.
Also, you can say that for all of the major characters as well as the secondary characters. I now understand, why high profile Actors/Actresses were turned down for many roles, during the 8 season run of Game of Thrones.
“you can’t deny the fact that Emilia Clarke’s performance as Daenerys was unmatched”
Oh yes, I absolutely can deny that. She’s a wooden actress, great at staring off into the middle distance for a long time without blinking, but not much else. And Daenerys was a true genocidal maniac, not “our true queen.”
