Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere cast stands one member short

HBO recently slipped up by revealing the cast for their much-awaited Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere and as previously reported, it featured two members which return to the screen after being presumed dead. While HBO did fix their error and remove the cast list for the show, the information had already been leaked into the sea of millions known as the internet and spread like wildfire among the fans eager enough to wonder who’s going to die next in the final season of the show.

It did not take people too long to notice that there was one major character missing in the first episode set to be aired on April 14th, 2019. And his name is Vladamir Furdik, the actor who plays the leader of the Night Walkers, the Night King.

The biggest upset which this poses for most, however, is the fact that since Game of Thrones Season 7 ended with the Night King breaching the Wall keeping him out of Westeros on his new dragon and he is the character that is missing from the premiere of the next season, it eventually means that the new season won’t start off where the old one ended. Other fan theories also speculate whether or not he was actually killed off screen, much like Ser Pounce. There are countless other theories for a show of these proportions, but they all seemingly fall short when Furdik’s statement is taken into consideration.

Vladamir Furdik announced at a convention late last year, saying that the third episode of this season is meant to be remembered for a long time, indicating at a battle of the ages which is to perhaps, decide the fate of most characters in the series altogether. This was first reported by a Hungarian News Channel and is now starting to make sense with the line-up of the first episode revealed.

“In the third episode of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intended to be a historic moment in television,” said Furdik. “Almost the entire episode will be about the battle, it will take about 1 hour.”

Perhaps, most of us might just find the conclusion of the entire series until the end of the third episode. Or perhaps, we might have to wait until the very final episode to find out what really happens. All in all, we may expect to find one epic battle because of the very specific reference by the actor. The rest remains yet unknown among an intense build-up of fans awaiting the release of the final season this April.
